MSC Juggling Club

Sunday, December 14th, 2008

MSC is proud to announce the formation of the “Juggling Club”.  This program is designed to inject a little excitement and incentive into the art of juggling a soccer ball.  Of course we’re not talking about traditional juggling here,  all juggling must be done by body parts other than the hands or arms.  We want to encourage and challenge our players at every level to make juggling a habit because it helps:

  1. Players set and achieve personal goals.
  2. Players develop better overall ball control skills.
  3. Players learn to use other body parts other than the dominant foot.
  4. Players develop quicker reaction speed and ball movement.

LSA Rule Change Effective 01/01/2009

Sunday, December 14th, 2008

NEW SUBSTITUTION RULES!!

Effective Jan 1, LSA has changed substitution rules. The reason for the change was to comply with Region 3 rules. These rules will be the same as most of the states in the region use, as well as Regionals, RPL, etc.

The new rule: (straight form LSA policy)

Substitutions shall be unlimited, however the 50% play rule shall be followed for Recreational teams. Substitutions may be made with the consent of the referee, at the following times:

1. Prior to a throw-in in your favor.

2. Prior to a goal kick by either team.

3. After a goal by either team.

4. After an injury by either team when the referee stops play.

5. At half time.

6. When the referee stops play to caution a player, only the cautioned player may be substituted prior to the restart of the game.

This rule will be required to be followed for all Premier League games, Premier friendlies, State Cups, and any state sanctioned tournament. With regard to Recreational and Division 1 games, the recently passed substitution policy is mandatory only for D1 State Cup games and Invitational tournaments, unless an exception has been approved by LSA. It is not mandatory for in-house league games, inter-club league games (e.g., Metro League) or friendly games involving D1 and/or Rec. teams.
