Coaching Directors
Shane Jeanfreau – Director of Coaching
3 years as a staff coach with AFC Lightning in Atlanta, GA. He has been involved in youth soccer for over 10 years, working with Lafreniere Gamblers and the Centerville Galaxies out of Ohio. Shane was an All-Conference, All-Ohio, and All-Midwest player for Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio. He was the team captain and MVP. He went on to play professionally with the New Orleans Riverboat Gamblers. He was fortunate enough to make the regional team and have the opportunity to train at the United States Olympic Training Facilities in Denver, Colorado. Shane holds the USSF “A” license and the USSF National Youth License and LSA ODP staff coach. He has a BS in Education, Human Performance/Health Promotion, from the University of New Orleans.
Mike Ortner – Girls Coaching Director, Club Goalkeeper Coach
Mike has been involved in the club for more than five years. Two of those years have been spent as the Asst. Director of Coaching and this past year has been spent as the girls Director of Coaching. Mike grew up playing in the area as a youth, winning a few State Championships with NOSA, as well as, playing with Louisiana State ODP team. He received All-State honors as a High School player while attending Northshore High School in Slidell. He currently holds his U.S.S.F. “B” License, U.S.S.F. National “Y” License, N.S.C.A.A. Level III National Goalkeeping certificate, and is a member of the Louisiana State O.D.P. Staff Coach. Mike is Head Coach for St. Scholastica Academy.
Liam Rennie – Boys Coaching Director, MSC Academy Director
Liam is in his 5th year at Mandeville Soccer Club. He joined MSC from Sparta United Soccer Club in Utah. Coach Rennie played in South Africa for 12 years, represented Province/State for 5 years, and played semi-professional for 2 years, Trialist at Crystal Palace, Wycombe Wanderers, Bournemouth AFC and Charlton Athletic. Played semi-professional for Dulwich Hamlet FC in London. Asst Coaching Director and Director of Coaching for Boys at Sparta United Soccer Club in Salt Lake City for 6 years, Utah ODP head coach for 3 years and Asst for 2 years. Currently holds an F.A. Coaching Certificate and USSF “C” License and was recently awarded the Bob McNulty Coaching Award by USSF. Liam has been married to Kelly Rennie for 8 years.
Colin Gilmartin - MSC Youth Director, Club Goalkeeper Coach
Colin is entering his second season with the Mandeville Soccer Club. Colin comes to Mandeville after spending the previous 5 years as Director of Soccer Training Systems, an all-girls soccer club in Worcester Massachusetts. He has been a youth coach, high school coach, college assistant and head coach, ODP coach and professional coach over his 12 years of coaching. Colin has two Master’s degrees from Regis University in Denver, Colorado and BA in Criminal Justice from St. Anselm College. Colin also holds USSF “A” and National Youth licenses along with NSCAA Premier, NSCAA Academy Staff and NSCAA National Goalkeeper awards.
