Mandeville Soccer Club was established on June 7, 1994 to organize, administer and promote soccer in the greater Mandeville area for youth and adults. Inherent in this mission are the goals of teaching soccer skills and tactics, providing a safe, fun environment to learn and play soccer, and to foster sportsmanship and teamwork among soccer players.
On January 24, 1999, Mandeville Soccer Club amended its Articles of Incorporation expanding the mission of the Club to include premier soccer pursuant to a merger agreement between the Club and the Lakers Premier Soccer Club. In June, 1999, the Lakers ceased to function and its premier soccer program was folded into the Mandeville Soccer Club, completing a transformation of the Club into a full service soccer organization.
The Club began in 1994 with just over one thousand soccer players. Today, the Club handles twenty-five hundred fifty (2550) players on two hundred thirty-eight (238) teams. Practices and home games take place at beautiful Pelican Park, located off U.S. Highway 190 across from Fontainebleau State Park in Mandeville. In the Fall, the Club hosts one of the largest and most spectacular soccer tournaments in the State: the Halloween ”Midnight Madness” Invitational. This tournament has in recent years hosted over 150 teams from all over the State, offering magnificent trophies and games at midnight. In the Spring, the Club participates in the Louisiana Soccer Association’s State Cups and has won many state championships.
Five different soccer programs are now sponsored by the Club on nearly a year-round basis: recreational, Division 1, Premier, adult and TOPSOCCER. Players may begin to participate at age four, and continue to age twelve in the recreational program. At age ten, players can continue playing purely recreational soccer, or may now seek more challenging levels of play with the Division 1 and/or Premier programs depending upon their desire and talent. These rec, Division 1 and Premier divisions of the Club continue through age nineteen.
Amateur soccer is offered to adult players including recreational coed teams for adults of any age. Currently, we have competitive and non-competitive leagues within the adult division. TOPP soccer in Mandeville is available for mentally or physically challenged kids. It is a unique program of which the Club is very proud. More information about these programs can be found elsewhere on this web site, or by calling the Club at 985-624-8080.
Mandeville Soccer Club has one of the most successful and fastest growing soccer programs in the State of Louisiana. Although the Mandeville area is quite small in population, it has the highest per capita participation in this sport anywhere in Louisiana. MSC is the third largest soccer program in the State, behind only Lafayette, and Baton Rouge in size. It is one of less than a dozen programs in Louisiana to offer all levels of soccer education and play. MSC is part of the Louisiana Soccer Association, and is thereby affiliated with the United States Soccer Federation, the United States Youth Soccer Federation and FIFA.
