Fury Finish Season with 3rd Place Finish in State Cup

Congratulations to the Fury on a strong finish to a great season. While we can all lament on how close the girls came to the State Cup title (and it was so close!!!), let’s take a quick look back on their team accomplishments.   If someone would have told any of us back in August of last year that this “C-3” team would accomplish the following, I think there would have been more than a few of us that might have questioned their state of mind.
 
-          Enjoy a C-2 match win/loss record of 31-10-3
-          That their 10 losses would be by a total of 7 goals (3 losses in shootouts and the other 7 losses by 1 goal)
-          That they would enter 7 tournaments and end up in all 7 finals
-          Win their Fall League Championship
-          Get promoted to the C-1 League for the spring
-          Advance to the State Cup Championships and finish 3rd in the State in C-2
  
While I am very proud of their soccer accomplishments, I am most proud of these girls for the fine young women they are.   It has been my pleasure to have gotten to know them all this year and see them develop as players, as teammates and as individuals. I am left with so many great memories and smiles. Thanks for allowing these girls to be part of my life.

Fury Advance to State Cup Championships

Never a dull moment with these girls!

After a roller coaster of emotions, the Fury advanced to the State Cup Championships with an exciting weekend of soccer in Baton Rouge.   A second half score by Bailie in the first game and a literally last second penalty kick by Emily, sent the Fury on to Lafayette.   Of course, there were a lot of great plays and outstanding defense holding the opponents to only 2 goals in 3 games.   Bring on State Cup Championships!!!

Fury Earn a Spot in all 7 Tournament Finals!

The Fury finished their last season tournament by beating Slidell in penalty kicks to advance to the Final in the Spring Bash Tournament.   In the final, they fell 1-0 to the LA Fire Blue team.  However, in the process, the Fury set an amazing feat of being Finalists in all 7 Tournaments they entered this 2011-2012 season.   It's hard enough to make the finals in any tournament so to do it every time thie year is a fantastic feat!   Congratulations to the Fury!!!
