MSC U5 & U6 Rookies do not have weekday practices.  Age Groups U7-U10 have one practice during the week.  Age Groups U11-U19 have two practices during the  week.  All practices are at Pelican Park.

Effective August 1st, 2026 age group information will align more closely with school grades, using the period of August 1st through July 31st.

U5-U6 Do not have practices during the week. U7 thru U10

Recreational practice one weeknight per week, and Academies and older teams’ practice 2 weeknights per week. Recreational practices begin the week of August 24th. 

MSC offers 2 pathways for our MSC players at the U9 & U10 Age Groups: 

MSC Academy Program (U9-U10)

• The MSC Academy Program serves as a bridge between recreational and competitive soccer.
• Single age group program: U9 Boys, U9 Girls, U10 Boys, U10 Girls
• Practice 2x’s a week
• MSC licensed and certified coaching staff
• Focus- technical skills, tactical game understanding, and individual growth
• Games- In-house (vs. MSC Teams) and vs. Louisiana and Mississippi soccer clubs

MSC Recreational Program (U9/U10)

• The MSC Recreational pathway follows the same structure as U8
• U9 & U10 age groups are combined to have a larger player pool and more teams
• Balanced teams, fun experience
• Practice 1x a week
• MSC parents volunteer coaches
• Positive environment
• Games- In-house (vs. MSC Teams)

Recreational and academy uniforms are purchased separately at Third Coast Soccer. Third Coast Soccer contact: 985-237-6100. The cost of the recreational uniform is about $45 and will include 1 light blue and 1 black jersey. MSC recreational players will also wear any black shorts and black socks as part of their gameday uniform. The cost for the competitive uniform is about $150 and will include 1 black, and 1 blue jersey, 1 black short, 1 white pair of socks, and 1 black pair of socks.

All players must provide and wear properly sized shin guards. Soccer cleats are optional but recommended; baseball cleats are not allowed. All players should bring a ball and water to games and practices. Ball Sizes: U5-U8 use a #3 ball, U9-U12 use a #4 ball and U13 and above use a #5 ball.

U5 and U6 Rookies receive participation trophies in the fall and the spring, U7 through U10 recreational receive participation trophies after the conclusion of the soccer year in the spring. 

Photos are taken for U5 and U6 Rookies in the fall and spring. U7 and older photos are taken during the spring season only.
