WELCOME TO THE LAKERS!

Our Lakers program is our competitive brand of soccer that we offer at our club for those players seeking a more professional and competitive environment for their soccer journey.

Our teams are divided into Elite, Premier and Select teams. Teams are formed based on the number and level of players that register. All our Lakers programs are a full one year commitment.

THE MSC WAY

Our U11 and U12 teams will practice twice a week until they transition into the 11v11 stage. Once at U13 our Lakers teams incorporate an additional training session to focus on regeneration, individual technique or fitness depending on the dynamic of their workload during the weekend.

Teams will follow a tactical periodization to learn how develop technical skills that will need to implement into the MSC WAY on the field.

WHAT'S THE MSC WAY

We based our training methodology on four phases where we teach the technical and tactical fundamentals of the game based on their position and their location on the field.

Within each part of the field we teach our players how to behave in each of the 4 phases of the game:

- Attack

- Defend

- Transition to Attack

- Transition to Defend

LAKERS AT THE REGIONAL LEVEL

Selected Lakers Elite teams will apply to compete in the The US Youth Soccer Mid South Conference League. The Mid South Conference consists of teams primarily from Alabama, Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi and Tennessee.

This league is played in multiple hosting dates where teams from multiple states meet during a weekend to play 2 or 3 leagues in a weekend.

The top teams in the Mid South Conference top tier divisions will earn advancement to the US Youth Soccer Regional Championships (NCS) and automatically qualify for National League P.R.O.

LAKERS COMPETITION PATHWAY

Our Lakers teams will participate in the Louisiana Classic Soccer League (LCSL). Based on the division they play in and their position in the standings, our Lakers teams will participate in one of the following State Tournaments:

-Louisiana State Cup (Division 1)

-Presidents Cup (Division 2)

-Open Cup (Division 3)

The winner of State Cup and Presidents Cup will represent the state of Louisiana in the USYS Southern Championships.

Lakers Elite Program

Lakers Elite is the highest level of competitive soccer offered at Mandeville Soccer Club. It is intended for players with a high level of ability, along with the commitment necessary. Players in the elite program train at a minimum of two times per week with competitions on the weekend or extra sessions during the week or on weekends throughout the year.

At the U11 and U12 age groups, MSC typically fields two competitively balanced teams for both our boys and girls programs. These years are considered to be developmental, with emphasis on technical training and individual skills.

At the U13 level, the two teams are combined tint one team (approximately 18 player roster). Emphasis then switches from developing the individual player to continuing to develop the player more fully within a team setting, with more emphasis being placed on tactical play.

Expenses involved for Lakers Elite players are registration fees, uniforms, practice gear, regional league entry fees, tournament and travel expenses. (Financial assistance is available for those who qualify.)

Along with participating in local state leagues, Elite teams generally also challenge themselves further by participating in regional leagues with teams from Arkansas, Mississippi, Alabama, Florida, Tennessee, Oklahoma, and Texas.

Lakers Premier Program

The Lakers Premier program is the second highest level of soccer offered at Mandeville Soccer Club. Teams practice two times per week.

At the U11 and U12 age groups, MSC typically fields between one and two teams that are competitively balanced for both our boys and girls programs. These years are considered to be developmental, with emphasis on technical training and individual skills. During these ages, the player development curriculum that guides the coaches closely mirrors that our Elite Program.

At the U13 and up level, these teams will be combined into one team chosen by ability. The player curriculum still follows that the Elite program with emphasis on developing the player within the team.

Lakers Select Program

The Lakers Select program is for age groups U13 and up. When player pools of age groups are deep enough and present the opportunity to create a third team, that third level offered is the Select level.

A common misconception is that this program competes in the Competitive 3 level of Louisiana Competitive Soccer League (LCSL). However, this team competes at the level with which the players' abilities dictate. In recent years, we have grown this program and have had teams compete successfully in as high as the Competitive 2 level within LCSL. Our goal is to continue to grow this program and help players achieve their goals both personally and team driven.

The curriculum for this players and teams closely follows that of the Elite and Premier programs.
